Ruben was a bone marrow donor for his sister. Martha, 13 years ago.  She passed away in March of this year.  He is a hero!Jason is cycling for at-risk children in need.  The project is "Roller-Aid". Between Erick and SayreI met Pam Jefferson at the rest area outside of Erick. She is golden!  What a kind and generous nature.Billy, Mark. Brandon and Michael from Elk City Fire Dept. They are helping me out with housing while I get my phone batteries replaced. My gratitude to all the guys here!Todd Brunner at 'KKZU 101.7 The Zoo', a radio station in Elk City, did an interview with me, sharing how easy it is to join the Be The Match Registry.
Riley, Kelley, Joan, Rick and RL Riding....an awesome family!  They shared a wonderful dinner, warm conversation and contacts for the towns I am approaching.This is a black & yellow argiope (ar-GUY-oh-pee). He shook his web at me, which is one of their protection mechanisms. Cool but creepy encounter.Wade, Jerry, Caleb, Jay & Randy from the Clinton Fire Department.  They helped me with housing, food and contacts for future marrow donor drives.Wanda, a volunteer helping with the Clinton Community Drive. Thank you, volunteers!Granny Annie has been giving blood for 70 years!  Read about her in my July 20 journal entry.

Brandon Faulk from the El Reno Fire Dept rescued me from the heat.  He made sure I was going to be safe!The Hurst clan in El Reno kindly invited me for lunch following the service at Wesley United Methodist Church.I just thought this was a nice picture!  I'm on old route 66 between El Reno and Yukon.
Jim Custer, from the First United Methodist Church in Yukon, will share information about joining the Be The Match Registry with the congregation.I met Matt and Dakota as I was entering OK City.  Dakota is 14 and said when he is 18 he will join the registry....great!Howard, Justin and Sean (OK City Fire Dept St. #5) helped me look for housing.The OK City Capitol bldg.  Wes Glinsmann, Director of State Legislative & Political Affairs, is researching the feasibility of providing a check-box on the driver's license application indicating you are interested in joining the Be The Match Registry.
Tim, Mindy Gerry, Kristina, Ardie & Connie had a bone marrow drive for Mindy's dad.  They enrolled 355 potential donors!This is Mindy.  Her dad, Tom Hill, is looking for a marrow donor.  Not one of his 13 siblings is a match.  Sign up today...YOU might be the ONE!!Sharon was the marrow donor for her brother, Buzzy, 19 years ago!Cristen lost her mom last June, while fighting graft-vs-host, after receiving her transplant.  
 Isn't it incredible that I ended up at her window at Bank of America?
Hardly a day goes by, that I don't meet someone with a personal story that involves bone marrow.

Jeana passes the 2900 mile mark in Oklahoma
Lyndsey and Suzanne walked with me the last 4 miles to VianMural in downtown VianBonnie Truett, of Vian, stopped on the road between Vian and Sallisaw.  He was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Colorado SpringsSuzanne and Pat Sullivan have the beautiful view from their home in Vian, complete with lots of hummingbirds.Heather, Audra and Jeanneane walked with me down HWY 64 headed toward Fort Smith, AR!Entering Arkansas!!
