Dear Friends of the Jada Bascom Foundation,
We are still celebrating Jeana’s amazing fifteen month accomplishment walking more than 4,440 miles across America to raise awareness of the need for bone marrow donors. Some of you met Jeana as she walked through your town; some of you are friends from all around the country. The celebration in New York City in January 2011 brought together little Jada and her family with Jada’s donor, Torsten Huber. What a grand and happy day!!
The work of The Jada Bascom Foundation continues. The need for marrow donors is great. In collaboration with the National Marrow Donor Program we continue to sponsor drives, recruiting marrow donors. Jeana is available to speak at any organization, educating individuals about the need for donors, and how easy it is to have your cheek swabbed and join the national registry.
The next big Steps to Marrow project is “sea to sea” walk in Europe. Jeana will walk nearly 1,500 miles from the Baltic Sea in Germany to the Adriatic Sea in Italy, crossing through Switzerland and Italy on her route. Our National Registry working with the International Registry was paramount to Jada finding Torsten. How many more miracles are just around the next bend?
